Receive and process telephone calls.
Welcome and direct visitors to the appropriate area.
Accept incoming Section 8 Applications.
Answer questions regarding the Section 8 Waiting List.
Operate a variety of office machines, such as:
calculator, typewriter, photocopier, word processor, and computer terminal.
Open & distribute incoming mail.
Prepare and type appropriate correspondence.
Prepare Housing Briefing Packages.
Schedule appointments as necessary.
Maintain inventory of Section 8 related forms and office supplies.
Filing.
Perform other related duties of the class as assigned by the Section 8 Supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Duties:
Working knowledge of office practices and procedures.
Ability to operate office machines such as:
calculator, typewriter, photocopier, computer, etc.
, Ability to follow oral and written instruction.
Ability to work harmoniously with others.
Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable.
Suggested Training/
Experience:
The successful completion of two year, post high school, business related curriculum is desirable.
Experience with automated office equipment such as word processor and computer terminal are essential.
Candidates must have a working knowledge of business math and business English.
Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable.
Starting salary for Clerk/Receptionist $15.
